A three-day pre-congress (Asia-Pacific Congress of Pediatrics) training workshop on”Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative” for health care workers was conducted at the Department of Pediatric Medicine, Mayo Hospital Lahore. It was well attended by 40 participants including senior-junior doctors, nurses, and health educators. The ten steps of BFHI to protect, promote and support breastfeeding by providing optimal help to newborn/young infants and their mothers were comprehensively discussed thoroughly during this session along with clinical demonstration. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the UNICEF-BFHI team, under the supervision of Prof Dr. M. Haroon Hamid, and facilitated by Assistant Prof Dr. Sadia Shabir, Dr. Nazir Muhammad, Dr. Samar Fatima, Dr. Bushra Ahmad, Dr. Shaffaq Aziz, and Dr. Shahida Nazir.
